Photo of Daverne The Texas Accordion Association’s International Accordion Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Gary Daverne (pictured at left), conductor of the Aukland Symphony Orchestra of New Zealand, will perform a benefit concert for the BRAUNTEX on Monday March 5 at 7:30 PM. Gary Daverne is well-known to television, radio and the recording industry as a composer, arranger and musical director. As a record producer, he has produced over forty albums with one Platinum and three Gold records to his credit and recently produced a CD for the New Zealand Maori entertainer and singer Sir Howard Morrison. He has conducted some of the world’s major orchestras, including London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Turkish State Symphony Orchestra of Adana, Orchestra Esproarte in Portugal, and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. He is highly regarding in the advertising and film industry for his writing and production of over 600 advertising jingles and film soundtracks. Gary Daverne’s music is distributed by Earnest Deffner Publications in New York and through Preissler Music in Germany.

The International Accordion Orchestra will begin its Texas Tour in Dallas at the Texas Irish Festival then give performances at the BRAUNTEX on Monday March 5th, the Shriner’s Temple in Corpus Christi on Tuesday, March 6th, and the Shriner’s Temple in San Antonio on Wednesday, March 7th, returning to Plano for the Texas Accordion Association’s National Convention held March 8-11.

Members of the Orchestra come from across the United States, New Zealand and Australia. The International Accordion Orchestra will perform many popular and modern selections and will also feature local accordion artists in both group and solo performances. The event promises to be an evening of fun-filled entertainment for audiences of all ages.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for Senior Citizens, and $5 for children.
